The semiotics of my idea



How signifiers relate to:

audience (primary and secondary)
(sub)-genre [hybrid]
Representation - stereotypes - counter types

Primary Audience : These would be female teenagers, 12 to 18 as it may contain moderate language as well as sex references.
 RomCom's can de described as chick-flick and they attract women due to the romantic aspect of "Happy ending".
Secondary Audience: 17 to 20 females & males.

Genre: RomCom
Sub-genre: Drama

Females:
Popular girl is represented as self observed and mean.
Geeky girl is represented as shy, smart and self conscious. She is the "The Other"
Tom boy is represented as rebel, careless and protective.

Males:
Jock is represented as kind and understanding.
Jock friend as uneducated, selfish and a flirt.

Demographics:
-Popular girl is quite rich, in A or B category
-Geeky girl is in middle class, C1 or C2
-Tomboy girl is in a middle class as well, C1 or C2
-Jock is quite wealthy, in A or B category
-Jocks friend would also be in A or B category
